Observing and photographing mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Impenetrable NP will probably be the highlight of this trip. You have the opportunity to observe, photograph and film these gentle giants up close. On a boat trip on the Mburo Lake you have the opportunity to observe numerous waterfowl and hippos. In the Queen Elisabeth National Park unique animal experiences await with the tree lions in Ishasha and the chimpanzees in the Kalinzu forest.
Due to the limited permits for gorilla trekking, this trip must be booked very early in advance. (at least half a year before departure)
Experience up close mountain gorillas is probably the most exciting and impressive animal experience in the world. This 9-day journey takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable NP, where approximately 50% of the world's population live on mountain gorillas. On a hike through an almost impenetrable rainforest, you will be accompanied by experienced rangers to search for the mountain gorillas. An encounter is almost certain, as the mountain gorillas move within a day at most 1 km.
This exciting trip is rounded off with a visit to the tree lions in Ishasha, the Chimpanzees in Kalinzu forest and a boat trip of Mburo Lake NP.
Due to the high demand for the Gorilla permits, a timely booking of the trip is required. The minimum age for gorilla trekking is 15 years.
Day 1: Arrival (D)
After arrival in Entebbe, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kampala.

Day 2: Mburo Lake National Park (B,L,D)
Early in the morning we pick you up from your hotel and drive to the Mburo Lake National Park. On the way we observe waterbuck, buffalo, giraffe and warthog. Overnight in a hotel
Day 3: Boat trip at Mburo Lake (B,L,D)
In the morning you take a boat trip on Mburo Lake. From the boat, numerous waterfowl, such as herons or kingfishers, can be observed and photographed. After the boat tour, the journey continues to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Overnight in a hotel
Day 4: Gorilla-Trekking(B,D)
Highlight of the trip! Today you will experience the mountain gorillas up close. Before trekking all participants of the trekking are divided into groups of a maximum of 8 tourists. Through dense, partly thorny bushes and impenetrable rainforest you searches for the gorillas. To protect the mountain gorillas, a visit is limited to a hour. Enjoy this time for watching, filming and photography.

Day 5: Tree lions in Ishasha (B,L,D)
Today we drive to the Queen Elisabeth National Park, the biggest and best known national park in Uganda. On the trip you will be able to see Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, elephants, warthogs and numerous birds. Impressive are the tree lions in Ishasha. Overnight in a hotel
Day 6: Community Walk and hippos (B,L,D)
The Ruboni Community organizes and supports projects for the local population and nature conservation.
In the morning, with a 2-3 hour community walk, you will have the opportunity to get to know the activities of the community as well as the way of life and traditions of the people of Nyakalengija.
In the afternoon, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park to Lake Edward. In the evening, the hippos leave the lake for food. You have the opportunity to observe how the hippos leave the lake and walk leisurely past you foraging for food.

Day 7: Chimpanzee-Trekking in Kalinzu Forest (B,L,D)
In the early morning you start in the direction of Queen Elisabeth NP. At the border of the park you have the possibility to observe savannah animals. With a little luck you will see buffalos, Uganda kobs, warthogs, elephants, waterbuck and many birds. In the Kalinzu Forest you go in search of the chimpanzees accompanied by a ranger. Leopards, many primates and birds live in the dense forest. However, you rarely see them. Once you have arrived at the chimpanzees, you will have enough time to observe and photograph them in their hustle and bustle on the trees. On the way back you go along the edge of the forest through tea plantations. At the edge of the forest there are many birds. With a bit of luck, you will see a silver-checked hornbill, great blue turacos or black-and-white colobus monkeys. Overnight stay in a hotel
Day 8: Kasese - Kampala (B,L,D)
Today ends your exciting travel. Passing tea and banana plantations and green forests you will reach Kampala. Your driver will take you to your hotel.
