Uganda has two wonderful pearls: the Ruwenzori Mountains with the world's most mystical and unique long-distance trail, the Central Circuit and the mountain gorillas of the Bwindi-Impenetrable National Park.
In the Rwenzori-Mountains you walk through an incomparable dream landscape. The multi-day trekking tour on the Central Circuit leads you through mystical rainforest with giant Senezia and Lobelia. In total, five different vegetation zones are traversed. Nowhere in the world is the density of plants so high as in the Ruwenzori Mountains. The whole thing is framed by a beautiful mountain scenery. For climbers, the tour on the Central Circuit with the ascent of the third highest peak in Mt Stanley massif, the Margherita Peak (5,109m), offers a special highlight.
Overnight stays in mountain huts. During the trekking you will be accompanied by an experienced guide.
In the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park live the last mountain gorilla population. As the gentle and peaceful giants allow us to have people around them, you are fortunate enough to be able to observe, photograph and film these animals up close.
Besides these two special pearls Uganda offers with its many national parks and its elephants, giraffes, zebras, Uganda kobs, lions, leopards and hippos exceptional wildlife experiences. With over 300 bird species, it is also a true bird paradise.
a report from Derry Kelleher
You will never forget a visit to the Mountains of the Moon and there is no more experienced guide
to take you there than Hezron Kule. Some years ago, I was lucky enough to join a party of 5 on a trek of the Central Circuit....
The Bwindi Impenetrable NP is known for its gorilla population. Here live the last mountain gorillas. The peaceful giants can be observed and photographed in the impenetrable rainforest at close range. The park also offers many shorter walks in the rainforest to waterfalls and for bird watching.
to the ParkUganda kobs, buffalos, waterbucks and elephants are a common sight in Queen Elisabeth NP. Lions and leopards are rare. In addition to its abundance of animals, the park has a very varied landscape with savanna, scrubland and marshes. Tree-climbing lions live in Ishasha. On the Kazinga Channel you can watch hippos or waterfowl on boat tours.
to the ParkThe Kibale Forest NP has one of the highest primate densities in the world. The main attraction is the chimpanzee trekking. In addition to the primates, many species of butterflies are found in the park. The adjacent Bigodi Wetland is an excellent bird watching area.
to the ParkA boat trip on the Victoria Nile upriver to the Murchison Falls is probably the highlight of the park visit. On the way you can observe hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants or numerous waterfowl. With a bit of luck you can also see the rare Shoebill Stork. Also interesting are game drives in the north of the park, where you can watch the rare Rothschild giraffe.
to the ParkThe Mburo Lake NP is known for its zebra population. On boat tours you can watch the numerous waterfowl. In addition to jeep safaris, walking safaris are also possible.
to the ParkThis national park, which lies far to the north, is one of the interesting national parks in Uganda due to its great biodiversity and virginity. Many species of animals occur only in this park.
to the ParkRukenka Hill Tours was founded by Kule Hezron in 2017. For over 10 years he has been guiding tourists on the Central Circuit and on the Margherita Peak.
